Usually in the Snack Attack Group, we share fab, quick and easy (and healthy) snack ideas. This is more of a concept than a recipe, but I thought it fits the group nonetheless. If you want more snack ideas, check out the group -- User suzanne has been posting some really delicious looking things in there.
You've all seen them in stores: Single serving snack packs, 100 calories snacks, etc. From chips to cookies to cereal, you can buy it in single serving, snack size. I'm all for this theory, but sometimes you are paying extra for something you can do just as easily on your own (which I am not all for). Buy some snack-size resealable plastic bags, and make your own single-serving packets by looking at the serving size on the label for calories. This way you can pick virtually anything you want but still get the ease of having pre-measured snacks. You'll save money and get to eat more of what you want. To go a step further, make your own trail mix.
I am sure one of you guys have a great snack idea for trail mix, so share it with everyone and post it in the Snack Attack Group. I may even choose to feature your snack in my next snacks post!
Lacoste
That is a good idea...that's how I keep my pretzel eating in check!
For Earth's sake, though, try to re-use them as much as possible!!
1I remember thinking those tiny bags were silly. Then I started packing snacks and the sandwich bag were just too big. Perfect for packing just the right amount of raisins for the kids.
2one of the greatest ideas EVER for keeping portions in check. don't haul around that giant bag of almonds/pretzels/whatever...re-bag it into smaller portions. break out the measuring cups for exact measurements and nutritionals!
3yeah I love this. I never can eat out the bag or otherwise I end up eating the whole thing. its a great way to watch portions.
4Also, if a serving size has too many calories for your taste, you can go to fitday.com, figure out what portion size yeilds the amount of calories you want, and measure it that way.

Why don't you wear the face you have when I am not around?
This saves you $$ and time. It also helps you avoid gorge eating which is something I have a problem with
6I love using those bags, it always ends up saving me from eating too much, or spending money on food!
